Fruit for our sustainably managed, single vineyard 2015 Chardonnay comes from south Summerland (Trout Creek area).
The Chardonnay was cold-fermented at 10 C to preserve the grape’s natural fruit aromas, with 20% of the wine separated out and fermented wild/naturally, then blended back in. 20% of the Chardonnay was then placed in new French oak to age and undergo malolactic fermentation.
The result is a beautifully complex Chardonnay with an intense nose of grapefruit and peach with hints of vanilla, banana and mineral. These are echoed on the palate with a refreshing, citrus-like acidity. The alcohol per volume sits around 12.7% making this wine extremely food-friendly and versatile.
